Poll:
3 out of 10 unhappy with wireless service
- Gary Thayer, News Editor
Boston,
March 3, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Nearly three out of 10
people polled in a recent survey say they are unhappy with
their wireless cellphone service. Of those, 14% are "pretty
unhappy", and another 13% say they would switch carriers
when their contracts expire.
The survey,
conducted online last week by CMP's TechWeb network of technology
web sites, reveals that only 16% of those polled are "very
happy" with their carrier's service, price and coverage.
Another
45% are "reasonably happy" with their wireless service,
and 12% say that it's too early to tell.
Among the poll participants, poor customer service was the
most often cited complaint. Other gripes were expensive or
inflexible pricing plans, roaming charges, billing errors,
lack of Smartphones to choose from, and unreliable coverage
even in major metro areas.
