Ecora
& Covera Zone release software for plotting, monitoring
WLANs

France & Portsmouth, NH, March 7, 2005 -- (MobileVillage)
-- Paris based Covera Zone has announced its WLAN site survery
software that helps network engineers visually control wireless
network quality by plotting coverage maps, and US based Ecora
has released software that lets authorized users monitor a
WLAN via a web browser.

Zone WLAN survey software
Covera
Zone runs on Windows XP laptop computers and tablet PCs with
a 802.11a/b/g network adapter. The software collects all RF
and IP performance parameters on the user's computer and Wi-Fi
adapter.

Zone lets users visualize survey data such as AP coverage
(image at right) and performance maps. The software runs
site reports with maps and survey data, and also offers
GPS support for outdoor surveys. |

The beta
version of Covera Zone is available as a free download from
the Covera Zone web site. The final version of the product
is scheduled for release in spring 2005.

In related news, Ecora
Software announced the availability of Dr. Wi-Fi, a web-based
software application that continuously monitors wireless networks
and provides real time alerts and reports on network coverage
availability and performance.
Ecora
says that Dr. Wi-Fi is simple to set up and installs no agents.
Its web-based interface allows access by multiple users. Users
can generate reports from anywhere.
Ecora
did not provide further product details or pricing information.
