Paris,
Feb. 16, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- BlueTree Wireless Data
today released two new industrial-grade modems within the
4000 IP Series, the BlueTree 4200 CDMA for use over cellular
CDMA/1xRTT (800/1900Mhz) networks, and the BlueTree 4400 GPRS
for use over GSM/GPRS (850/1900Mhz) data networks.
Designed to provide simple and reliable communications, these
two modems support telemetry applications such as wireless
Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) oil, gas and water utility management,
Point of Sale (POS), Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) and
cash machine transactions.
The intelligent programming of these products includes Smart
Connection Management capability that allows the modems to
initiate their own wireless data connection to the cellular
network and complete the transfer of information. This feature
provides for non-intelligent serial devices to be attached
to the BlueTree 4200 and BlueTree 4400, such as utility meters,
and eliminates the need for operator intervention or an attached
computer.
Program code is embedded inside the microprocessor of the
BlueTree 4000 IP Series products to support serial-over-IP
applications. Combining the ability to communicate with attached
non-intelligent devices allows the wireless modems to support
more complex applications and specific customer solutions.
For use in extreme conditions, the BlueTree 4200 and BlueTree
4400 are built to meet the special operating requirements
for both mobile installations and fixed industrial applications.
Tested to ensure that military and automotive standards for
reliability and durability are met, these rugged modems withstand
the demands of vibration, temperature, shock and humidity
in harsh environments.
BlueTree's BlueVue Management software combines graphical
client software with the modem's firmware. This allows the
BlueTree 4000 IP Series modems to be easily configured, monitored
and managed using a local cable connection or a remote wireless
data connection.
