auctions go mobile
Salt
Lake City, Feb. 3, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Abidia has announced
its O-Anywhere application that lets Palm OS device users
bid, search, browse, and monitor live auction listings from
the Overstock.com Auctions site. (Users must have an Internet
connection.)
Abidia says that its version for Windows Mobile Pocket PC
edition is also complete, and has just passed the Windows
Mobile logo certification test.
O-Anywhere
supports both buyers and sellers. Users can view real-time
information about items that have been won, lost, bought,
and sold, and can view and add items to the watch list, view
any items' current bid price, an image, or compare prices
of other auctions.
Sellers
can view the status of auctions, and compare prices and see
pictures of competing items. Sellers can also check the amount
of bids on an item that is up for sale, and determine who
the winning bidder is.
Both
sellers and buyers can sync with any Overstock.com Auctions
account, and minimize cost by selecting what and when to sync.
Users can also browse cached listings and images, and
O-Anywhere
supports both color and monochrome Palm OS devices and any
networking technology including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Ethernet,
CDMA and GSM, says Abidia. It can be installed directly Over-The-Air,
or with a Windows PC installer. Macintosh computers are supported
with the OTA install.
O-Anywhere
is available from the Abidia website and the Overstock.com
Auctions portal. After a free two week trial, the service
costs US $2.49 per month when paid annually ($30), or $3.99
per month paid each month.
Abidia says it will also be releasing versions for Smartphone,
BlackBerry, Symbian, and Java enabled cell phones in the near
future.
