Kinetix
mobile field force software leverages worker-to-location proximity
Vancouver,
BC, Feb. 3, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Kinetix Wireless today
unveiled its 1.8 release for MBLink IRMT console, the primary
component of the company's upcoming MBLinkT platform 2.0 for
enabling mobile applications on Windows, Windows Mobile and
Windows CE devices.
According
to Kinetix, release 1.8 allows a given mobile workforce management
system to support multiple sequential auto assignment rule
streams and auto assign orders based on adjacent and secondary
dispatch areas, ensuring that the closest available worker
is dispatched.
MBLink
IRMT is based on industry standards and allows for interoperability
between different back-end systems and processes, including
IBM's WebSphere AS V5.1, according to Kinetix.
Version
1.8 allows companies to make use of alternate assignment algorithms
to accommodate differing business situations that may arise,
says Kinetix. There are two alternate assignment algorithms
available as part of the standard offering in addition to
the existing primary assignment rule: adjacent dispatch area
support and secondary dispatch coverage.
Adjacent
dispatch area support allows customers to designate alternate
dispatch areas whose resources can be used to support the
primary dispatch area. For each primary area, customers will
be able to configure a set of supporting alternate dispatch
areas and designate thresholds and priorities to be used in
establishing alternate dispatch area support. Secondary dispatch
coverage allows customers to assign employees secondary dispatch
area coverage in addition to their primary coverage.
Version
1.8 also lets customers dynamically configure and extend the
version 1.8 processes. Customers can dynamically enable and
disable alternate assignment algorithms, save and restore
assignment and dispatching scenarios, and introduce new automated
processes. This allows customers to have available alternate
assignment algorithms that they can quickly deploy to accommodate
changes in business conditions, such as localized outage conditions,
weather impacts, or special programs.
Kinetix
did not say when version 1.8 would ship. For more information
see the Kinetix-Wireless web site.
