Atlanta,
GA, Feb. 15, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Healthcare
professionals who use Epocrates, HealthRamp, or PatientKeeper
mobile software can now access and update data over the Cingular
Wireless GSM/GPRS network, rather than relying on their sync
cradles.
Cingular
Wireless is the first national wireless provider to certify
Epocrates Essentials for wireless wide area network use. Cingular
is PatientKeeper's second wireless carrier partnership; the
company also teamed with Sprint last summer.
HealthRamp's
CarePoint provides HIPAA-compliant eprescribing from a physician's
wireless handheld, including prescription drug interaction
information, drug reference guide, patient medication history,
and formulary referencing. The software is integrated with
most popular practice management systems.
The Epocrates
Essentials suite includes the Epocrates Dx disease guide;
the Epocrates Rx Pro drug reference that includes an infectious
disease guide, an alternative medicine guide, and access to
drug cost and health plan coverage and co-pay information;
and the Epocrates Lab diagnostic reference with information
on hundreds of tests.
PatientKeeper
integrated applications available for Cingular subscribers
include PatientKeeper Clinical Results, PatientKeeper Charge
Capture, PatientKeeper Mobile Dictation, PatientKeeper ePrescription
(Powered by DrFirst), and PatientKeeper Reference Library.
Epocrates
and PatientKeeper last summer announced an alliance that allows
PatientKeeper Reference Library users to access Epocrates
drug reference applications while viewing a specific patient's
information. The PatientKeeper Reference Library links patient
information such as medication lists, diagnosis code,
lab panels, etc. to clinical decision support tools
through third parties.
