Socket Bluetooth adapter ranges up to 300-feet
San Jose.
CA, Jan. 27, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Socket Communications
has added a new Bluetooth product to its lineup -- the Socket
USB Adapter with Bluetooth. The adapter enables wireless connections
using Bluetooth to a variety of devices, including those fitted
with other Socket Bluetooth products.
A Class
1 Bluetooth device, the Socket USB Adapter promises a range
of up to 100 meters or 300 feet, whereas most adapters typically
are Class 2 Bluetooth devices and offer a more limited range
of 30-40 feet.
The adapter's
supported profiles include the Basic Imaging (BIP); Dial-Up
Networking (DUN); Fax; File Transfer (FTP); General Access
(GAP; Headset (HSP); Human Interface Device (HID); LAN (LAP);
Object Exchange (OBEX); Personal Area Networking (PAN); and
Serial Port (SPP).
The Socket
USB Adapter retails for US $59 and is available from the Socketcom
web site as well as retailers.
