Intermec's
newest rugged handheld fits in pockets
Seattle,
WA, Jan. 18, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Intermec Technologies
has announced its latest rugged Windows CE based handheld
computer, the CN2.
At just
5.8 x 3.4 x 1.4 inches in size, Intermec's new rugged handheld
scanner is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket. The CN2
runs Windows CE 4.2, incorporates Wi-Fi and a bar code scanner,
and features an ergonomic design that supports single-handed
operation.

The
CN2 is based on a 400 MHz Intel PXA255 processor with
128 MB of SDRAM and 64 MB of Flash. A SD card slot supports
up to 1 GB storage. It includes 802.11b WiFi and has
a elastomeric keypad available in two formats -- the
9-key layout and a 17-key numeric layout.
The
CN2 incorporates Intermec's SmartSystem remote device
manager. According to Intermec, SmartSystem allows configuration,
routine maintenance and application software updates,
security adjustments, and device settings to be performed
automatically and managed remotely.

Intermec
is taking orders for the CN2 now, with delivery expected in
