Cingular
adds Siemens SX66 Pocket PC phone

Atlanta,
Jan. 5, 2005 -- (MobileVillage) -- Cingular Wireless today
added the Siemens SX66 Pocket PC phone to its product lineup.
The SX66 is a a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM "world
phone" that runs on Microsoft's Windows Mobile 2003 Second
Edition operating system.

The
SX66 has a hidden QWERTY keypad that can be pulled open.
The display is a 3.5 inch transflective TFT-LCD color
touch screen at 240 by 320 pixels.
The
device's wireless connectivity lets users access Cingular's
GPRS network, as well as via Wi-Fi hotspots. It also
has integrated Bluetooth for wireless connectivity of
headsets and peripherals.
Like
other Windows Mobile devices, the SX66 includes pocket
versions of Outlook, Word, Excel, MSN Messenger, Internet
Explorer and Windows Media Player. Other features include
MMS, video playback, MP3 player, speakerphone, and voice
recorder.
Since
Windows Mobile uses Microsoft's Windows.NET, the SX66
can access company .NET based applications that are
extended to mobile users.

The SX66
is powered by an Intel PXA263 processor at 400 MHz and has
up to 128MB of internal memory. It also comes with an SD slot
for flash data storage, plus infrared data (IrDA) interface
and USB synchronization station for data transfers.
According
to Siemens, the SX66 provides up to eight days of standby
time and up to four hours of talk time. The device weighs
7.4 ounces and measures 2.82 (W) by 4.92 (H) by 0.74 (T) inches.
The SX66 ships with a battery, headset, spare stylus, travel
charger, DC jack converter and a carrying case.
Following
its acquisition of AT&T Wireless in October, Cingular
Wireless is now the largest carrier in the U.S., with 47 million
customers.
