DOTGO Mobile Solutions for Operators & Users

DOTGO is a dynamic startup that specializes in developing unique and innovative mobile messaging solutions for mobile network operators (MNOs). With its strong heritage in research and development, DOTGO’s flexible platform allows operators to rapidly create user-friendly SMS-based solutions. As a result, DOTGO has collaborated with a number of carriers across the globe to create new messaging experiences and distinctive SMS-based web browsing services. DOTGO’s clever solutions are helping operators increase revenues and offer new services to subscribers.

Using only one easy to remember shortcode, and not multiple complicated ones or website dashboards, DOTGO’s unique solution allows users to both browse the Internet and manage their group messaging all through SMS. In emerging markets where access to fixed line Internet can be difficult and data plans expensive, DOTGO is making the Internet accessible to both smartphone and featurephone users.

Its core messaging platform allows carriers to rapidly launch innovative messaging services, like an SMS Web Browser, to create new value from their existing infrastructures. As all of DOTGO’s messaging services are built using the same core platform, launching new services introduces no additional technical overhead once a carrier has launched and integrated any one of DOTGO’s current solutions. From Group Messaging services to on-demand multilingual sports results, DOTGO’s solutions have been adopted by over 15 tier-one operators.

Founded in 2007 by MIT physics graduate Stefan Gromoll and Stony Brook University astrophysics professor Ken Lanzetta, DOTGO started with the simple aim of connecting fellow astronomy enthusiasts through the universal messaging potential of SMS. The company has since received funding from the US Federal Government’s National Science Foundation and Google’s Eric Schmidt as it looks to expand further into more markets.
