BlackBerry Passport Features & Benefits
Inspired by actual passports – the universal symbol of mobility – the BlackBerry® Passport was purposefully built with a boundary-breaking design that boosts users’ productivity. Measuring the same size as a passport, the device includes a large square touchscreen, a touch-enabled QWERTY keyboard and premium materials such as Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for the display and forged stainless steel around its edges for added strength.
The BlackBerry Passport is designed for multi-tasking mobile professionals and early adopters of new technology who seek to stay ahead of the curve in their pursuit of success each and every day. They are continuously looking to improve themselves – in search of ways to work smarter, collaborate and achieve more. With up to 30 hours of mixed use battery life, the BlackBerry Passport helps these mobile professionals meet their goals with an innovative 4.5 inch square touchscreen with 1440 x 1440 pixel HD display. The large square screen allows for 60 characters per line (more than the average 40 characters on other top-of-the-line smartphones) making it ideal for viewing documents, browsing the web, e-read and more.
The device also features the first and only touch-enabled QWERTY keyboard, which provides users with more ways to control functions. The BlackBerry Passport combines the efficiency of tactile typing with touchscreen-like navigation to further enable productivity.
BlackBerry Passport featured apps
The BlackBerry Passport comes preloaded with new software and features, including BlackBerry® Blend, which brings messaging and content from a BlackBerry smartphone onto a user’s computer and tablet. Using BlackBerry Blend, users can receive instant notifications, respond to work email and personal messages including BBM™ and text messages, and access documents, calendars, contacts and media in real-time on any device. BlackBerry Blend works across desktop operating systems, including Mac OS X 10.7 +, iPad tablets running iOS 7+ and Windows 7 +, as well as Android™ tablets running Android 4.4+.
The BlackBerry Passport also comes equipped with BlackBerry Assistant, BlackBerry’s first voice and text-enabled digital “assistant” that helps users manage work and personal email, contacts, calendar and other native BlackBerry 10 applications. BlackBerry Assistant intelligently determines how to respond to you based on how you interact with it – if you type, it responds silently, if you speak, it speaks back and if you activate over Bluetooth, it speaks back with additional context because it assumes you might not have access to the screen.
BlackBerry Passport also offers users their favorite apps for work and play through dual app stores. Users can access great business and productivity apps, vetted for quality and malware through BlackBerry World, as well as the latest Android games and consumer apps through the Amazon Appstore.
